Make Your Christmas #3!

Hello!

Saturday (that's tomorrow!) We'll be up bright eyed and bushy tailed like woodland creatures ready for part 3 of the very festive Handmade Arcade season!

Get down to the Arcade from 10am to get a glimpse of some of the inventive, affordable and wonderful Indie Arts and crafts on offer!

(You could even pick up a joyous jumper like this one!!)

Alas I hear you cry! is it really worth a stroll from the safe (drab and boring) land of the high street so full of people running around and worrying about gifts and money! BAH!

The answer to this is YES! yes & YES!

Why of course - a trip to the Arcade will leave you beaming restoring your faith in the festive season - come and say hi to this great little network of makers! who really care about what they are making - use renewable, re-crafted and found resources and make something by the power of their own hands and minds! Come join us and MAKE YOUR CHRSTMAS too!

(These people are clapping because they love Handmade Arcade)

.......... and not only do we have makers and affordable gifts for lovely people (and yourselves of course) but we also have live music from some local musicians singing directly into your ears in the  acoustic wonderland of McCoys Arcade.

(Ahh the beautiful sound of Will Rene - have a listen here - LINK!)

After all that walking about the High Street tripping over other peoples shopping there is somewhere here that you can sip a cuppa, refuel with a gourmet burger and even put your feet up and relax with a CLASSIC Christmas movie at the McCoys (FREE) Silent Cinema!

(Perfect for some time away from the Christmas crowds!)

And not only do we have all of the above - down here in the marvelous and magical corner of the West Quarter, you will find us nestled in the friendly cosy world of Independent shopping - shops brimming with unique affordable and specialist things helpful people you can ask for advice and shopping locally means that you can feel GOOD!

Did you know that for every £1 spent with a local Indie Business around 70p circulates back into your local economy! So you can really feel good knwing that your hard earned money is going back into keeping Exeter local and filled with an extensive and beautiful community of local friendly Independent Shops!

NOT ONLY ALL OF THIS BUT.... We have CAKE and it's vegan too! Nath's Gran rated and approved with a score of 12/10! Wow, thanks Gran!

(Just look at them and their Chocolatr Orange goodness! YUM!)

And if cakes not your thing grab yourself a steaming cup of hot mulled apple to warm yourself up - you deserve it!

(Some call it liquid Gold!)

We've really enjoyed filling the Arcade with a beautiful and bountiful amount of Christmas treats and seasonal joy from all the friendly makers who have come on down to get involved in all this craftery!
Here's a selection of some newbies as well as a few who visited us in the fairer months - take a peek at what we'll be adding to our regular stash of great makers this Saturday...

Amie Coco - Maker of these equisite and classy headbands will be joining us with a selection of festive headbands!

The wonderful Abigail Mckenzie will be joining us from down the road in Plymouth! With some marvelous burlesque inspired illustrations on cards totes and prints! I'm guessing she'll be full of festive spirit

I was very happy to discover Betty Threads work - her beautifully embroidered jewellery and cases are deliciously rich in both texture and colour!

Exeter Local Records will be back! Bringing with them a host of musical talent from the area both live and recorded, plus these awesome badges for only £2 with a free download code to 17 great locally made tunes! :)

Global Indigo - Our new favourite Pop-Up shop has moved in next door and will be open tomorrow to tempt you with ethical Christmas treats! Positive Impact Shopping supporting Co-operatives around the world! Come and visit this not - for - profit organisation we hope someday will have a permanent home on Fore Street - come and support them so they can make it happen! :)

This beautiful knitted hat is the handi-work of Exeter's guerrilla knitter Lisa of the Original Knitting Tent! Lisa is a skill sharer and prolific knitter who yarn bombs at festivals and the like!! She'll be on hand to answer any questions about turning a single thread into a usable piece! and rumour has it may be starting up a little skill swap in the Arcade - Knit-in anyone? We love having Lisa around her energy and good will always leaves us feeling warm! - come and meet her and get cosy in a hat or scarf!

Beautiful wildlife illustrations on T-shirts, prints and cards as well as handmade sewing boxes! This is the work of Barnstable couple Mick and Emma - it will be great to see what these guys have been making since they last joined us in April at the first ever Handmade Arcade and the Re-launch party!

As well as this, a lovely bunch of regular Handmade Arcaders will be joining us once again! You'll be sure to find Madeline Bunyan, Little Owl Crafts, Clare Marie Holland, Barry Peryman, The Spirit Forge, Laurel Coxon and Sarah McDonald here in the Arcade too! These guys are awesome, they really make Handmade Arcade the wonderful and friendly Art Fair that it is!

Well hopefully we'll see you tomorrow! Rain or shine - it's undercover in the Arcade and here you'll find a host of warmth!

Hayles and Nath x
